Title: Addressing Sexual and Gender Diversity in Your School
Date: February 9, 2017
Time: 4:30 - 8:30 PM
Location: Montclair State University - Dickson Hall - Cohen Lounge
Instructors: Darla Linville & Amy Moran
This session will focus on how educators can make schools safer and more inclusive for LGBTQ youth, specifically concentrating on Gay Straight Trans Alliance (GSTA) advisors, or those who wish to start or be a part of a GSTA in their school.
Please bring with you ideas about what you would like to accomplish with your GSTA and what roadblocks you are encountering. Workshop attendees will offer support and guidance to one another as they share ideas and create a manual of programming plans to take with them.
The session will break for a cold buffet dinner for participants, to be served from 5:30-6:00 pm.
The day will end with an evening celebration, open to the public, with the sharing of stories from three local GSTAs doing exciting work in their schools. MSU Faculty and students, as well as faculty, staff, and students from high schools are encouraged to attend.
