Description: In this mini course, we will look at how philosophical dialogue can help us to shift the student teacher relationship toward a more democratic learning environment. You will be introduced to a curricular approach that explores the use of Community of Inquiry Pedagogy. We will examine how the Inquiry component informs logical, reasoned critical thinking and how the Community component helps the community’s participants set parameters that inform the way Inquiry happens. We will also explore the implications of this pedagogical approach for cultivating prosocial dispositions in students.*Meets the MSUNER Clinical Faculty requirement for Teaching for Critical Thinking.
