Title: Creating Welcoming Classrooms for LGBTQ Youth

Description: Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer and questioning youth are in our schools and, increasingly, they are out to peers, teachers, and parents. This workshop will address language, curriculum, and strategies for creating welcoming school spaces, fostering peer acceptance, and challenging heteronormativity. In addition, school staff will acquire skills to assist families struggling to accept an LGBTQ child.
