 iences of students from diverse socio-economic, linguistic, and cultur
 al backgrounds and the qualities of teachers, teaching, and schooling 
 that foster their learning. We will critically examine our own assumpt
 ions and perceptions about sociocultural identity, and understand how 
 these beliefs shape our perceptions of ourselves and other people. We 
 will also plan activities that reflect multiple ways of perceiving and
  interpreting the world and discuss strategies to help teachers develo
 p the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to successfully teach childr
 en of all backgrounds and experiences (including social, cultural, rac
 ial, disability, sexual orientation, and linguistic diversities).  Th
