PowerPoint is a useful presentation tool, however, there is a Web 2.0 application that makes lessons on a StarBoard or screen much more exciting. Prezi is an Internet based application that is ideal for sharing ideas of any size. Creating and utilizing Prezi allows teachers to share information in a visually engaging way; it gives you the freedom of presenting key concepts as well the bigger picture. In the following sessions, the participants will learn to create an applicable Prezi for their current classes, while learning to import already made Power Point slides, links, and images. In addition to working with Prezi, participants will be introduced to another web-based application tool called Animoto. Animoto allows teachers to create student accounts, where text and images come together to create a 30 second digital story, narrative, or summary of a topic explore in class. Teachers taking this course would walk away the with teacher accounts for both sites, and lesson ideas for use to either use as a teaching/presentation tool in the classroom or as an activity for their students to be engaged creating. Materials that would be needed is use of a computer with Internet access and handouts that I would prepare. The intended audience is teachers in grades 3 and above.
