DESCRIPTION:2010 Leadership Associates Program\n\nProgram Description:
  The purpose of the Center of Pedagogy Leadership Associates Program i
 s to work toward developing a critical mass of leaders from the public
  schools, from the arts and sciences, and from teacher education who u
 nderstand and are committed to the goals of simultaneous renewal of sc
 hools and to the education of educators.\n\nLeadership Associates will
  work to deepen their understanding of the moral dimensions of teachin
 g—stewardship, access, nurturing pedagogy, and democracy—and to co
 llaborate with P-12 faculty and administrators and university educatio
 n and arts/science faculty toward the renewal of schools and the prepa
 ration of educators. We will examine our roles in our respective insti
 tutions to become more effective agents for change, and propose and un
 dertake an inquiry project to work towards these ends.\n\nThe Leadersh
 ip Associates program will be held at Montclair State University July 
 12th through July 16th. The agenda will run from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm
 . We will also have a planning meeting in May or June, date to be anno
 unced. In addition, at least one meeting will be held during the 2010-
 2011 academic year to maintain continuity and collegiality among membe
 rs of the cohort.\n\nThe compensation for full participation in the pr
 ogram during the summer and academic year will be $600 per participant
 . In addition, all educational materials and food (light breakfast and
  full lunch) will be provided.\n\nParticipants will be selected for th
 e program by a screening committee and great efforts will be made to a
 chieve a balance among faculty and administrators from the university 
 and the public schools. Every attempt will be made to achieve as wide 
 a district representation as possible. Administrator/teacher teams are
