DESCRIPTION:Program Description:  The purpose of the Center of Pedago
 gy Leadership Associates Program is to work toward developing a critic
 al mass of leaders from the public schools, from the arts and sciences
 , and from teacher education who understand and are committed to the g
 oals of simultaneous renewal of schools and to the education of educat
 ors. \nLeadership Associates will work to deepen their understanding 
 of the moral dimensions of teaching—stewardship, access, nurturing p
 edagogy, and democracy—and to collaborate with P-12 faculty and admi
 nistrators and university education and arts/science faculty toward th
 e renewal of schools and the preparation of educators. We will examine
  our roles in our respective institutions to become more effective age
 nts for change, and propose and undertake an inquiry project to work t
 owards these ends. \nThe Leadership Associates program will be held a
 t Montclair State University July 11 through July 15.  The agenda wi
 ll run from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.  We will also have a planning meet
 ing in May or June, date to be announced.  In addition, at least one 
 meeting will be held during the 2011-2012 academic year to maintain co
 ntinuity and collegiality among members of the cohort.\n he compensat
 ion for full participation in the program during the summer and academ
 ic year will be $600 per participant.  In addition, all educational m
 aterials and food (light breakfast and full lunch) will be provided.\n
 Participants will be selected for the program by a screening committee
  and great efforts will be made to achieve a balance among faculty and
  administrators from the university and the public schools.  Every at
 tempt will be made to achieve as wide a district representation as pos
 sible.  Administrator/teacher teams are encouraged to apply.  \n \n
