Title: Let's Just Be REAL About Classroom Management

This mini-course focuses on classroom management without all of the "fluff". This is not simply a discussion of strategies to be used in your classroom, but an entire Management Program detailing proven methods to utilize from the first day of school, till the last, and EVERYTHING in between. Video Reenactments of classroom scenarios will be viewed, bringing classroom management issues to life. These clips will demonstrate the right and wrong way to deal with classroom issues. We will not just discuss approaches to use, but participants will witness them in action through these video reenactments as well as live role playing during the workshop.

Students are defiant? Students are unmotivated? Students come to class unprepared? Students arrive late? The list goes on and on. We will discuss simple and proven approaches to avoid these situations all together, minimize distractions, and keep students engaged. We will stray from the common suggestions of stickers and charts, and delve into how to motivate students to do the right thing not because you want them to, but because they want to themselves.

Materials required - a notebook, an open mind, and enthusiasm.

Intended audience - Middle and High School level.
