 f mini-courses is designed to deepen general education teachers’ und
 erstanding of inclusive teaching through the principles of Universal D
 esign for Learning; models for differentiated instruction, curriculum,
  and assessment; and strategies for student access, engagement, and pa
 rticipation.  Workshop topics will include a variety of specific inst
 ructional models and strategies, assessment for learning, and the impl
 ementation of positive behavioral supports and student motivational sy
 stems.  The workshops will also address issues of the Common Core and
  provide strategies for making meaningful use of the Common Core Stand
 ards within inclusive classrooms. The workshop will be cotaught by a g
 eneral and a special education teacher/ Board Certified Behavior Analy
 st with more than 20  years of experience working with students and t
 eachers in inclusive classrooms.  It is recommended (but not required
 ) that teachers attend all four of the workshops in this series for a 
 holistic understanding of inclusive of inclusive teaching. \nAlthough
  participants are not required to attend all workshops, the courses in
  this series build upon each other and it is recommended that they are

 Description: The best instruction is assessment-drive in that it takes
  into account what individual students know, understand, and are able 
 to do before determining learning content and processes.  This mini-c
 ourse will focus on the development and assessment components of inclu
 sive teaching.  Participants will delve more deeply into the UDL and 
 differentiation frameworks and learn specific strategies for applying 
 the principles of inclusive curriculum design and assessment in their 
 classrooms. This course will address the selection of meaningful goals
  for those students with IEPs and 504s and provide tools for supportin
 g students’ specialized educational needs in the Least Restrictive E
