  Teachers\nPart 1:Â  The Principles and Models of Inclusive Teaching-F
 ebruary 29, 2016\nBest for general education teachers of K-12\nThis se
 ries of mini-courses is designed to deepen general education teachersâ
 €™ understanding of inclusive teaching through the principles of Unive
 rsal Design for Learning; models for differentiated instruction, curri
 culum, and assessment; and strategies for student access, engagement, 
 and participation.Â  Workshop topics will include a variety of specifi
 c instructional models and strategies, assessment for learning, and th
 e implementation of positive behavioral supports and student motivatio
 nal systems. Â The workshops will also address issues of the Common Co
 re and provide strategies for making meaningful use of the Common Core
  Standards within inclusive classrooms. The workshop will be cotaught 
 by a general and a special education teacher/ Board Certified Behavior
  Analyst with more than 20 Â years of experience working with students
  and teachers in inclusive classrooms.Â  It is recommended (but not re
 quired) that teachers attend all four of the workshops in this series 
 for a holistic understanding of inclusive of inclusive teaching.Â \nAl
 though participants are not required to attend all workshops, the cour
 ses in this series build upon each other and it is recommended that th

 cipants with guiding principles of inclusive teaching, including Unive
 rsal Design for Learning, differentiation, coteaching, and response to
  intervention.Â  Using these frameworks, participants will gain an und
 erstanding of the different ways to approach curriculum, assessment, a
 nd instruction for meeting the needs of diverse students.Â  The use of
  prompting techniques, the fading of supports, chaining and the breaki
 ng down of teaching components into attainable short term goals will a
 lso be discussed.Â  Participants will be given resources to begin appl
