In this session Priya Lalvani, Professor of Disability Studies, will share her knowledge and insights about professional-family partnerships in the context of inclusive education. She will discuss research on institutional roadblocks to inclusive education and the “steering” practices that parents encounter when navigating the special education system. Critically examining the ways in which inclusive education is linked with socioeconomic privilege, she will discuss strategies for working toward more inclusivity in schools.
