Summer Conference, June 28, 2010
Summer Conference is the perfect opportunity, as another school year comes to a close, to take the time to reflect, rejuvenate, and re-energize. Join us for a celebration of 21st Century learning.
The Summer Conference will only be one day this year. It will include a keynote speaker, grant presentations by our MSUNER colleagues, a choice of mini-sessions, and engaging collegial conversation at breakfast and lunch. During the conference, you will also have the opportunity to take a chance in the MSUNER Raffle!

The keynote speaker, John Barell, is Professor Emeritus of Curriculum and Teaching at Montclair State University and former public school teacher in New York City. For the past several years he has been a consultant for inquiry-based instruction and creation of science/social studies networks at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. For most of his educational career he has worked with schools nationally to foster inquiry, problem-based learning, critical thinking, and reflection. He is the author of several books, including Teaching for Thoughtfulness: Strategies to Enhance Intellectual Development, Why are School Buses Always Yellow?, Problem-Based Learning, and Developing More Curious Minds. MSUNER will provide 7 professional development hours to participants who attend the entire conference. Participants will also receive the book, 5 Minds for the Future, by Howard Gardner.
Visitors must park, for a nominal fee, in the Red Hawk Deck located on the main campus, or in the NJ Transit Parking Deck located on Clove Road. Surface lots are for MSU permit parking only. Please allow ample time for parking as there is a great deal of construction taking place on the MSU campus.
