Event Description

Undoing Ableism in K-12 Curriculum
Date: May 17th, 2022
Time: 3:30 - 5:00 PM
Location: ZOOM
Facilitator: Priya Lalvani, Ph.D.

Beginning in 2020, NJ law requires that the topic of disability be infused in appropriate places in the curriculum. In this session, Priya Lalvani (Professor of Disability Studies) will cover a conceptual understanding of disability as a natural form of human diversity and share strategies to equip educators with the necessary tools to meet this mandate. She will discuss ways to infuse anti-ableism content within K-12 curriculum.
