SUMMARY:Cancelled-'Whose Class is this Anyway?'-Using Improv and Impro
 v Comedy in the Classroom-February 23, 2015
DESCRIPTION:TITLE: \"Whose Class is this Anyway?\"-Using Improv and Im
prov Comedy in the Classroom DATE: February 23rd, 2015 TIME: 3:45-6:4
5 PM LOCATION: Pascack Hills High School, 2nd Floor Conference Room- 2
25 West Grand Avenue, Montvale, NJ 07645\nINSTRUCTOR: Dr. Barry Bachen
heimer\nStudents learn best when they enjoy learning. The objective of
this workshop is for teachers in all subject areas to develop ways to
use comedic and dramatic improvisation in their lessons. The idea is
to reveal through the improv what they know about the characters (real
or abstract) to the class... and also to start a class discussion on
the subject.\nThe objectives of this course are to discover the fundam
entals of improvisational comedy, improve your storytelling skills, le
arn techniques to think quickly on your feet and to be more creative.
This spirited, fun course is for anyone who wants to learn the essenti
als of good scenic improvisation or anyone who wants to improve their
teamwork or communication skills. Discover how to actively listen, to
use your own life to create stories, and work on the fundamental princ
iples of improvisation. Through coaching, warm-up exercises, creative
performance games and basic short-form scene-work, you will learn how
to be more spontaneous, trusting and cooperative and how to listen in
a fun, creative atmosphere. We will also draw from viewing professiona
l improv media such as “Whose Line is It Anyway” and other shows.
Teachers will also develop ideas for improvisations to be used in thei
r own classes, and try them out with their colleagues during the works
hop.\nThis workshop is appropriate for all levels and subjects, K-12.
Based upon the presentation, participants can adapt and adjust their o
wn lessons.\n\nTo Register, Please Click HERE\n \n\nFor more informat
