Internationally recognized expert in education with extensive experience in physical education and research, Dr. Ellie Abdi is a former gymnast, dancer, and coach who has worked in various academic roles from Pk to doctoral studies. With the district's partnership Professor Abdi is a clinical faculty at the Center of Pedagogy in Montclair State University. An Associé de recherche and Professeur associé at Université de Reims in France, a Content Expert for University of Grand Canyon, School of Doctoral Studies in Arizona and an advisor for the Athletic Department at The American University of Paris, France are among her other academic endeavors. Furthermore, Dr. Abdi was the Vice President of physical education for SHAPE-NJ and a chair of Diversity for SHAPE-America who advocates on behalf of teachers and students before the Congress in Washington, DC regularly. She is also a content expert on curriculum standards with New Jersey Department of Education. Served as the VP for Jerome Lohez 9/11 Scholarship Foundation in NY City and was the director of a scholarship program in her hometown. Dr. Abdi is an Editorial Board Member for several international peer-reviewed journals and USA, a scientific mentor/editor for a Swiss journal in addition to Elsevier International and Livre de Lyon publication in France. She not merely has been invited to many editorial, scientific committees, and conferences just as so her research, interviews, and articles have been published globally and domestically. An author and presenter of many papers, keynotes and workshops domestically & internationally who holds a Masters of Education in Philosophy for Children from Montclair State University in NJ and an Education Doctoral in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University in San Diego, California. An author of 4 books (one translated to Farsi), Chief editor of a medical science book, co-authored several chapters on bio mechanics in different books, Dr. Abdi has written more than 30 published research papers.
