Join me in discussing, analyzing, role-playing and strategizing how to groom a positive environment as a way to decrease problem behaviors. The outline is a three-prong-therapeutic hypothesis- 1. Understand the behavior, 2. Disengage/Connect, 3. Soothe via a simplistic positive counseling style led by Mr. Paternoster, who has 40 years of experience with behavior problems and special education as a counselor, teacher, administrator and disciplinarian in both private and public schools. We will reference ideas, studies, and theories found in books like ‘Flourish’ (Positive Psychology) by Martin Seligman, ‘Social’ by Matt Lieberman, ‘Mindset’ by Carol Dweck, ‘Group Therapy’ by Dr. Ormont, ‘Lucifer Effect’ by Zimbardo, ‘Project Aristotle’ by Google, ‘People Analytics’ by Waber and thirty other texts if time allows. The workshop attempts to be interactive, passionate, educational and dedicated to helping you, your institution and fellow human beings.
