Title: Music Criticism
Dates: December 10 and 17, 2013
Time: 3:45-6:45
Location: MSU, University Hall, ADP 1145
Briefly, music criticism is the act of deciding or judging music for oneself. In essence, critics are ordinary people who happen to possess extraordinary powers of perception. However, these powers of perception can be taught, and can be utilized for additional purposes: the teaching of writing. Hence, this workshop will assist in building teachers’ abilities to create meaningful writing assignments (i.e. music criticism) for the students they serve.
