Course: Strategies for the Coaching & Mentoring of MSU Student Teachers

Instructors: Gail Ahnemann, Montclair State University, and Karen Massa, Parsippany/Troy Hills

Dates: March 29 and 31, 2011, 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Location: The Harrison Building, 104 Gray St., West Caldwell, NJ 07006

This 6-hour mini course is designed for new Clinical Faculty members, but open to all who are interested. Topics include an overview of the MSU Teacher Education Program, the Portrait of a Teacher, exploration of the meaning of mentoring and coaching, an introduction to clinical supervision including feedback and conferencing, an examination of various dimensions of the cooperating teacher-student teacher relationship, co-teaching strategies, and sharing the wisdom of practice.

*Fulfills the MSUNER requirement for Mentoring

 

Registration for this course is closed. 

 

This mini course meets for 2 sessions, March 29 and 31. You must attend both sessions to receive professional development hours toward the state requirement. MSUNER regrets that it cannot grant professional development hours if you are absent from any portion of the mini-course.
