Session #1: Top 10 Technologies that Facilitate Differentiation (and How)

This session will demonstrate and provide basic information on technology resources that are conducive to differentiated instruction, especially for the gifted learner. More importantly than the tools themselves, this session illustrates how they work alongside intentional strategies of differentiation to meet the reciprocal needs of the classroom teacher and the gifted learner.

Session #2: Using Technology to Transform (Not Just to Support) Instruction

This session builds on the technical knowledge and understanding developed in the first session. Participants will actively engage in case study method to discern the transformative uses of technologies for gifted education. The goal is to move beyond the traditional instructional uses of the technologies outlined in Session #1 toward a pedagogical model of transformative learning.

Session #3: Adapting/Aligning Technology-Infused Lesson Plans for the Gifted Learner As the culminating session, this third session focuses on curriculum alignment of specific content/grade-level curriculum standards with pedagogical strategies (identified in Session #2), and innovative technologies (identified in Session #1). Participants should BYOC (Bring Your Own Curriculum) in digital format for adaptation and development.

*All artifacts, adapted lesson/unit plans, discussion points and discoveries generated through this mini-course will be posted and maintained on a professional learning community web site for ongoing access and use by participants.
