Over the last several decades, videos of speakers from the TED Conference (Technology, Entertainment, Design)have spread ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks.  This workshop will look at some of the more prolific speakers and discuss what kinds of ideas are "worth spreading".  We will discuss ways to use TED talks in the classroom, ways to model effective (and ineffective public speaking), and produce our own short TED talks as models for our students.  The workshop is primarily recommended for teachers in grades 5-12 who utilize public speaking or presentations in their classrooms.  Maximum:  20 participants
